Everyone uses their imagination constantly whether they realize it or not. I guarantee that even people who say they are not imaginative sit around living fictional scenarios or worries in their minds. The truth is that we all do such things on a continual basis. The difference is the Actor uses his imagination more precisely in the moment to induce specific results. The artist uses imagination to express and bring forth what is within, out. To where the average person imagines unknowingly as if in a haze between fiction and reality. The actor is a real time craftsman of the imagination and the secret lies in the mastery of this ability.
